Potpourri

A few favorites...in order of importance, naturally...Sarah, working diligently at her computer...yeah, right...does that look like a college student studying??

Cocoa at peace with the world...and her unstuffed squeeky toy...And, what I made for dinner tonight 3-24-07...penne pasta on a bed of spinach topped with shrimp, garlic, pepperoncini, red onions and olive oil...mmmmm

Cruising along the coast

Okay, so these are a couple of pretty poor pictures...I was getting ready to go to bed the other night and I heard what I thought was a boat (ship) horn blowing nearby. Then it quit, and as I was about to dismiss it, it blew again...and again...long and low. So I thought maybe there were two ships in close proximity to one another...but it was so loud, it had to be really close, which I thought was odd. So, I took my camera and went up to the balcony to have a look...much to my surprise there was a cruise ship...and it was VERY close indeed. I figure it pulled into Taormina about 8:45 PM or so, as it was passing me by at 8:30. The first shot was blurry so I switched the setting to action...and it's dark...maybe should have tried fireworks, next time...if there is one.

Garmisch

So here they are...my pictures from the short, but too long, trip I recently took to Garmisch, Germany. I could never live in a climate like this. Every day was rainy and completely overcast, as you can see in the pictures here. I expected the Alps to be grand, and yet the German Alps where Garmisch is situated are not as tall as Mount Etna and as such, I was less than impressed by the scenery.
