Fate of the squeaky ball

If you saw the previous posting that showed Cocoa with her new squeaky ball, you'll understand this posting.

I still haven't figured out what criteria Cocoa has to determine which squeaky ball to preserve and which falls fate to becoming unstuffed. She went through 2 brand new squeaky balls (this is the first of them) in a matter of days. The one she saved - the old, dirty, disgusting one, is still in use after more than 8 months.

As you can see, she is quite happy with herself. A few weeks later she found the last "new" squeaky ball and it had the same fate as the previous two. Of course, she still brings me her nasty, dirty one to play with her - I can not explain sufficiently how gross it really is. Maybe that will be a good follow-up photo to display.
