It takes time...

Okay, so here's the fruit...I can't believe how long it took to upload this picture, I guess I wasn't patient enough yesterday. Anyway, the fruit, vegetables, seafood...you name it...is all in abundance and much of it is displayed in such a way that makes you just want to reach out and take a picture. Seriously, it is difficult to go to the market and not buy anything...then again, the whole purpose of going to the market is to purchase something. ;)

Oh yeah, I wanted to be sure to include the price sign...that's 2 euro a kilo. I don't do math but I think a kilo is around 2 pounds which makes these particular grapes about $1.30 a pound -- of course prices vary by vendor.

Off to taste test the pineapple. Ciao

Success at the Catania Market

Our trip to the Catania market was successful on many levels: 1) we made it there and back with relative ease...this is not always possible however, traffic was light and 2) there were many photo opportunities as anticipated. I think my favorite of the day was this lovely display of fresh fruit.

Okay, so I'm learning about my new camera and how to upload pictures from the camera to the computer and then from the computer to the blog.

Looks like it isn't going to work today...maybe domani.

Camera's charging

Okay, so I went out and bought a camera today...a Nikon Coolpix S5...it should do everything that I need and more. ;) We'll see. Tomorrow (uh, well...today 'cause it is 1:23 am and well past my bedtime) I am going to the Catania market with some friends - there are always photo opportunities at the market.

A work in progress

Please bear with me while I learn how to post and update my information - my blog guru is vacationing in the states for the summer. I probably should go out and buy a digital camera so that I can share the beauty of my island home with whomever chooses to peruse my page. Thanks for your patience.
